ABOUT US

Kevin Ginty, Research Consultant. Kevin managed research projects at the University of Sunderland, Centre for Internet Technologies from 1997-2017. He developed CIT’s involvement in JISC funded research activities in the area of CERIF based information management over several funded research activities.  He won funding for 26 research projects both from the EU and from UK national government initiatives. His previous European project experience includes SILAE (@LIS), ELPRO (TAP), NOPIK (IST), EXPERTS and EXPERTS II (ISIS). While working at the university, Kevin lectured on a range of computing disciplines including e-commerce and software engineering.  Kevin also has a wealth of experience in European standardisation, having been chair of the CEN/ISSS eBES (e- business Board for European Standardisation) workshop for several years, until 2015. Since retiring from higher education he has worked as a consultant writing research funding applications for universities and companies.

Francesco Molinari

Francesco Molinari is an international researcher and policy advisor who has been working for 30+ years at both theoretical and practical levels in and for local and central government bodies and agencies in Italy and across Europe. His areas of expertise range from public management to government digitalization, from territorial marketing to smart specialisation, from pre-commercial procurement to living labs, from electronic participation to artificial intelligence. He currently manages two Horizon Europe projects on behalf of ANCI Toscana, the Association of Tuscan Municipalities. Previous affiliations include the University of Valencia, Economy of Culture (EconCult) Research Unit, the Politechnic University of Milan, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies, and the Ulster Business School in Belfast, UK as a Visiting Professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In his career Francesco has successfully designed and managed 50+ public funded R&D and innovation projects and authored 100+ academic and grey literature publications. 



Munir Abbasi

Dr Munir Abbasi is an experienced programme/project manager, engineer, and senior researcher with diverse knowledge and expertise. He has a PhD in Communication Technologies in Hybrid Networks and over 30 years of experience in project management, research, design and innovation in the defence, academia, public and private sectors. He covered a wide range of areas such as digital transformations and strategies, data-driven innovation, smart cities, communication technology, climate change, smart and sustainable energy, smart mobility, circular economy, business models, creativity, analytics, education, health care, equality & diversity, Technology Roadmapping, AR/VR, Innovation Management, AI, IoT, 4G/5G. He has provided mentoring and coaching facilities to SMEs, designers, engineers, researchers, and practitioners. He has worked with funding bodies, including UK Research and Innovation, Research Councils, GCRF, innovate UK and the European Commission. Dr Abbasi has published widely in internationally refereed papers in journals, books, and conference proceedings.
